@Kerplunk @Ninji needless to say relying on the #UsedMarket is not sustainable and in many places not even an option… (video via #LowSpecGamer)

i appreciate that in some countrys PC components used or new are an absolute ripoff. That can often be circumvented by Purchase from Ali Express for example.

Used not sustainable, what is not sustainable is good hardware being shredded to prevent it reaching the used market.

Other problem is often persons brainwashed to windoze only.

@betelgeuse93 @itsfoss Okay, I've to admit this is very #EU-centric but there are lots of #refurbished #amd64-based, #fanless #ThinClients on the market.

One can easily find a hp t520 or t620 with dualcore AMD GX-Series APUs, 4GB RAM and 16GB SSD for as little as €25 with power supply (excl. shipping)...

OFC as we all know from #LowSpecGamer the #UsedMarket in #DevelopingNations is completely fucked up which is why stuff like a GT210, 750 and 1030 will still sell there.

I kinda wanna make a barebones Steam Machine for my TV but the only available computers in the house are Raspberry Pi 400 and Sony Vaio SVE151E11M with i5 3rd gen and either Intel HD or Radeon HD 7000 series which might not even be enough to run Steam Big Picture these days lol

LowSpecGamer on “The First LowSpec” Processor
By the "first LowSpec" processor it means the 6502. This video is a retrospective on its origins (27 minutes). With its manga-styled illustrations of key players interspersed by stock footage and the occasional meme, It's not my favorite style for a YouTube doc (those would be the Dan Olson/Folding Idea

Set Side B

Best people can get are #NewOldStock #GTX1030 or worse like #GT710 or got forbid #GT210|s which noone should buy unless they are stuck in some hellhole like #Brazil where #customs make thibgs so expensive that people are glad if they can buy their used work computers (minus HDD/SDD) from their employers for an absurdly high price cuz #refurbishers and #UserMarket either din't exist or just full of shit re: prices!

@neil Granted, I do think this could make for a cool #ScrapyardWars #Extreme #Challenge and that should be done way more - espechally since we live in economies with a rational #UsedMarket...

OFC a lot of people will point out that cheap #Android devices are taking over #Africa faster and that a lot of places are already skipping the #Desktop & #Laptop phase of #Computing.

OFC, a #UsedMarket that is completely wack doesn't help in the #GlobalSouth as #LowSpecGamer showed in a deep dive into "#JustBuyUsed"...

But as we acknowledge that all production is somewhat yet intrinsically harmful, we should at least try to #UseLonger, #Reuseand #Upcycle a lot harder!
