I love this rosette trim ribbon, and the black & white striped button.

Some of these stuffed animals pull me in immediately, and this bear has been one of my favorites since i found them. They were fraying in several places, and their eye literary popped out the moment I started de-stuffing them, but they were so soft & friend-shaped, so I wanted to revive them.

Tonight's question: can I unfuck the convergence on this Samsung CRT televsion I saved from the dump.

The answer is: mostly! Geometry is still a bit wonky but most of the lines, er, line up. The convergence rings use a mechanical retainer instead of epoxy, so adjustment was actually much easier than expected (thanks 1990s Samsung engineers).

This is about the best I can do without a proper test pattern generator. TV only has an RF input, so I kinda bodged a test pattern with an HMDI to RF converter (introducing a ton of noise). But hey, it's clearly *way* better now! Interestingly, the TV housing has unused knockouts for composite video in and audio out, and there are empty spots on the board where those circuits would go... wonder if it's as easy as just populating the board? That'd be neat.

Also, more appliances should have x-ray warnings. Appliances are so lame now, all they do is listen to you having sex and sell that information to marketing companies. Bleh.

I've developed a bit of a reputation; the folks at the town dump are saving things for me now.

This is a onn. (brand name) 100095550 monitor. 32", 1080p, 75Hz refresh rate. Very barebones, with one HDMI port, one VGA port, and no menu options that I can find other than what you see here (input detection and input selection). There are a few light scratches on the screen but it does work!

No idea what I'm going to use this for, will probably wind up on Craigslist unless there's someone local who wants it (free, if you want to pick it up; I don't think it will ship well).
