I think I will continue shooting analog from time to time. This series turned out better than I expected. It wasn't lost time. I like negadoctor in darktable, digitizing negative film is what I enjoy most about analog photography.
Also, it's really good to shoot unspectacular landscape sometimes... it's more "meditative". I don't know if you know what I mean. I know, this won't get me hundreds of likes but I like it. I should do this more often. And what is also very important: it's completely different from mountains and the Alps, or even the sea.

Das nächste LibreGraphicsVienna Meeting ist am 23.10. um 18:30 im Metalab!
Thema: play it raw mit darktable.

An afternoon and evening watching #rugby and a scintillating game between #Scotland and #France. Not so much #Wales v #England - but it has improved.

Unlike poor Ben Healy of Scotland, who received "man of the match" and has to make do with a large bottle of Grouse, I have something way better to sip on.

Christmassy, boozy, dried fruit and oaky vanilla on the nose. Sweet, sticky currants, figs and dates hit the palate - reminds me of my mum's Black Bun at New Year. Hints of chocolate and liquorice allsorts. Spicy prunes and cinnamon give a nice long, warming finish. Great stuff.

Lots to be cheerful about - great come-back and win by Scotland, my local team Heart of Midlothian sit at the top of the table alongside Celtic (admittedly only the first game), Rangers sit at the foot propping everyone up and I am sipping a superb dram. Happy Days

Lochlea is unusual in that it is independent and family owned situated on Lochlea Farm where they grow their own barley. The farm was once owned by Robert Burns’ family, Burns was well known to enjoy a dram or two.

Scotch Drink

"Let other poets raise a fracas
'Bout vines, an' wines, an' drucken Bacchus,
An' crabbit names an' stories wrack us,
An' grate our lug:
I sing the juice Scotch bear can mak us,
In glass or jug."

crabbit - bad tempered
wrack - torment
grate - annoy
bear - barley

Lochlea Sowing Edition, Second Crop. NAS, NC, NCF 46% abv.

Matured in Maker's Mark ex-Bourbon cask (a dram I also like). Very light yellow straw colour and even a hint of green in the glass. Lovely notes of the orchard - crisp red apples, pears and peaches. Woody vanilla and spices on the tongue with almonds and a touch of caramel, more sweet apples and estery pear drops. Lingering sweet finish of spice and orange.

A bit of a belter.
