The workflow i use might be interesting -
scan with xsane on Linux at 16 bits per channel/2400dpi (professional scanner). Usually greyscale though.

Then to #GIMP and clean up then resize for Alamy stock & for Web.

Wonder if there’d be interest in videos about the clean-up process?

If you use GIMP from the Microsoft Store, settings, plug-ins, & other add-ons are lost when you upgrade.

The latest update will fix this, but needs a recent Windows 11.

If you’re on an older version of Windows you can still install from gimp.org. Follow the steps in this post to copy your setting the first time you switch.

Hello everyone! 👋

I created this account because I would like to start a Libre Graphics community in Budapest for people interested in creative tools such as Krita, Blender, Inkscape, darktable, digiKam and other free and open source graphics software.

The goal is to create a relaxed and friendly meetup (“Stammtisch”) where artists, illustrators, photographers, designers, developers, students, Linux users, hobbyists and curious newcomers can meet, exchange ideas, share workflows and projects, discover new tools, and help each other learn.

At the moment, I am planning two meetup dates:
• around the end of September
• and another around early to mid November

The exact dates are still open — I would like to decide them together with people who are interested in the idea.

There may also already be an earlier meetup around the end of June.

Possible locations:
- Kastner Kommunity
- Kelet Kávézó és Galéria

Indítsunk egy Libre Graphics / nyílt forráskódú grafikai közösséget Budapesten!

Ezt a fiokot azert hoztam létre, hogy megprobaljam összehozni azokat az embereket Budapesten és Magyarországon, akiket érdekelnek olyan kreatív szoftverek, mint a Krita, Blender, Inkscape, darktable, digiKam és más szabad és nyílt forráskódú grafikai programok.

A cél egy barátságos és kötetlen találkozó („törzsasztal”) létrehozása, ahol művészek, illusztrátorok, fotósok, grafikusok, fejlesztők, diákok, egyetemisták, Linux-felhasználók, hobbifelhasználók és kíváncsi érdeklődők találkozhatnak, ötleteket cserélhetnek, megoszthatják workflow-jaikat és projektjeiket, új eszközöket fedezhetnek fel, és segíthetnek egymásnak a tanulásban.

Jelenleg két találkozót tervezek:
• szeptember vége körül
• valamint egy másikat november eleje és közepe között

A pontos időpontok még nincsenek eldöntve — ezeket szívesen egyeztetném azokkal, akiket érdekel az ötlet.

Lehetséges, hogy már június vége körül is lesz egy korábbi találkozó.
