Forgot to mention how I learned the hard way how big a sucker eSIMs are.
After I killed my iPhone, I wanted to move my SIM to the fallback phone I had (fortunately!).
Turns out I had an eSIM, and to move that to a new phone, it has to be removed within the software of the original phone.
Now if that phone is dead, lost or stolen, the only way (for my carrier at least) was to walk to a shop.
New SIM is a card, not an eSIM of course;)
Another lesson learned.
