Bought a Pioneer Elite CLD-79 #LaserDisc Player to replace our old one at the hacker space and we inaugurated it with #Akira

Something about sitting around with friends watching the 1995 Criterion master of the film (which was not perfect) projected on a big screen with friends hits differently than the modern 4K restoration.

Yep, it finally happened; I now own a copy of #Highlander on a video format I can't actually play.

This isn't a #laserdisc, it's a #VHD (Video High Density)!

I also finally got my hands on the two laserdisc releases of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou! (Yokohama Shopping Travelogue) A lovely little cosy post apocalyptic slice of life #anime.

This wonderful OVA has sadly only ever been released in Japan on long out of print #Laserdisc and DVDs. `

Hopefully some day it will get a new transfer and a modern release!
