I have like 15, new in original package. I don't have a device anymore that can use them. Anyone at #39C3 who has use for them and wants them? For Free.
@slyka Visiting the ORF headquarters (Austrian National Public Broadcast) yesterday, I came across some vitrines and found this colour image converter of an Ikegami HL 77 professional TV camera, along with some diagrams. This re yer recent posts … Adding an Ampex VR3000 video recorder for your obsolete media pleasure here … enjoy
Obviously #DiskOnModules were never made for speed and the only reason anyone ever bothered with them was for #legacy #industrial applications, as I'm shure that's where anyone (not just myself or @rasteri) will have seen them, because there the outrageous price of SLC flash is acceptable for reliability and capacity isn't a problem when one's dealing with a 30+ year old CNC machine running #MSDOS...

I wished @thisdoesnotcomp made a #playlist with his #BackgroundMusic and called it something like: "#SmoothJazz to think about #ObsoleteMedia and restore #VintageComputers to" or something...
Also besides #Zip & #Jaz, #iomega also had a QIC #TapeDrive called #ditto which also had the same case design like the former, but in a bordeaux-coloured plastic case in the external, parallel port version...
I have one laying around, somewhere...
Does anyone have any experience with "RCA Video Discs", or "Capacitance Electronic Discs (CED)"?
My mum just found an old RCA Video Disc player in storage, along with a few old movie discs. She has no use for them, so I'm wondering if there's any interest from anyone else in having them. I'm not sure if they're worth anything to folks who are into obsolete media. It seems like it was pretty pricey in its day, so it would be a shame to just throw them away.

I'll probably never own a drive to read those, but these are some very impressive floppy disk cartridges. Also, 20 megs in 1984 - that's more than a typical hard disk had at that time. 😲
