Love is love and LGBTQ rights are human rights.

At the heart of our shared humanity lies a fundamental truth: love is love, and LGBTQ rights are human rights. These rights are not special privileges, they are integral parts of the universal human rights system that should apply to every person, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

The international human rights framework has increasingly recognized that protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity are essential components of dignity, equality, and freedom. Marriage equality, protection from workplace discrimination, safeguards against bullying and violence — these are not political issues but foundational human rights causes.

Businesses needs to be responsible and support LGBTQ rights during the whole time too.

Organizations have a responsibility to go beyond performative allyship. While Pride Month offers visibility, true commitment means advocating for LGBTQ rights throughout the entire year. This includes:

🌈 Implementing inclusive policies and benefits
🌈 Creating safe, supportive workplace cultures
🌈 Supporting LGBTQ employees and communities year-round

Taking concrete initiatives that advance equality is what really matters.

Responsible businesses understand that diversity strengthens organizations and that standing for LGBTQ rights is simply the right thing to do.

More advoacy for LGBTQ rights is foundational.

We must also recognize and support the vital work that champions these causes. Advocacy drives progress on marriage equality, anti-discrimination protections, and safety measures for LGBTQ people. Advocating for LGBTQ rights, or supporting those who advocate for LGBTQ causes, is essential to advancing human rights for all.

Japan’s Prime Minister Reaffirms Intention To Revise Constitution

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae made it clear that she intends to revise the Constitution of her nation in accordance with the demands of the modern age, according to a news report by Kyodo News. When it comes to national security in the modern age, Japan is constantly defending itself from the aggressive moves of Communist China and North Korea. The nation also has its own internal challenges such as foreigners committing crime, grouping together to cause public nuisance and negatively affecting the Japanese.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of Kyodo News Some parts in boldface…

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on Sunday once again signaled her intention to pursue a revision of the Constitution, as she stressed that the postwar supreme law, which serves as the foundation of the country, ā€œshould be periodically updated in accordance with the demands of the times.ā€

Speaking in a video message to a gathering of revision proponents on Constitution Memorial Day, Takaichi vowed to explain potential amendments carefully to the public, adding that her ruling Liberal Democratic Party would ā€œadvance discussions in the Diet aimed at reaching decisions while securing the cooperation of other parties.ā€

A recent Kyodo News poll showed that 73 percent of the Japanese public called for prioritizing a broad consensus across political parties when moving toward an amendment of the Constitution.

ā€œDiscussion must not be for the sake of discussion alone. What politicians must engage in, in order to fulfill the trust placed in them by the people, is discussion aimed at making decisions,ā€ Takaichi said.

Takaichi, known as a conservative hawk, is pushing to bring about a change to the Constitution for the first time since it came into effect following World War II. Among possible areas of amendment is the war-renouncing Article 9, which is seen as the cornerstone of Japan’s postwar pacifist stance.

An amendment would require approval by a two-thirds majority in both chambers of the Diet, followed by majority support in a national referendum. The LDP won two-thirds of the seats in the House of Representatives election in February, while it and other pro-reform forces are within reach of the same threshold in the House of Councillors.

Amid a deteriorating security environment, Takaichi said at the LDP’s annual convention in April that she aims to initiate a proposal for a constitutional amendment by the time the party holds its convention next year.

At Sunday’s gathering, Tomohiko Taniguchi, a former special adviser to the Cabinet, cautioned against getting distracted by discussion of other provisions, saying, ā€œArticle 9 stands squarely at the center. I hope we avoid taking easy detours.ā€

Let me end this piece by asking you readers: What is your reaction to this development? Do you think there are sufficient grounds for Japan to have its Constitution revised? Do you think national security and the regional threats of North Korea and Communist China justify the need to revise the Japanese Constitution? Do you think Prime Minister Takaichi, the LDP and other parties in the chambers of government can reach a consensus to successfully amend the Constitution?

Four Suspects Arrested In ParaƱaque City For Stealing Telecom Cables

Recently in the City of ParaƱaque, local police officers arrested four suspects over the illegal cutting and the attempt to steal underground copper telecommunications cables, according to a news report by The Daily Tribune.

To put things in perspective, posted below is an excerpt from the news report of The Daily Tribune. Some parts in boldface…

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief P/Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin commended the swift coordination between security personnel and responding police officers, which resulted in the prompt arrest of four adult male suspects and the recovery of stolen telecommunications equipment.

The incident occurred at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, 24 April, in front of a gasoline station along DoƱa Soledad Avenue corner West Service Road, Barangay Don Bosco.

While conducting routine area monitoring, arresting officers intercepted the suspects in the act of illegally cutting and taking underground copper telecommunications cables.

Initial reports showed that security personnel in the area immediately alerted authorities upon noticing the suspicious activity, prompting a coordinated swift police response that resulted in the on-site arrest of four individuals. However, nine of their cohorts managed to flee and are currently the subject of follow-up operations.

Recovered from the scene were several pieces of cut underground copper cable wires measuring approximately two meters in length, with an estimated amount of P262,006.63.

Seized were tools and equipment used in the illegal activity, including a bolt cutter, an improvised steel hook, a white closed van and a motorcycle believed to have been used in the operation.

The suspects are now under police custody and are facing charges for violation of Section 4(d) of Republic Act 10515, also known as the Anti-Cable Television and Cable Internet Tapping Act of 2013.

Let me end this post by asking you readers: What do you think about this recent development? If you are a resident of ParaƱaque, did the cutting of the telecommunication cables affect your household somehow? Do you think ParaƱaque City is becoming a new hot spot for the stealing of telecommunication cables?
