#Kuroko is now in the edge/community repo on #AlpineLinux and #postmarketOS officially!

I’m the sole maintainer of Kuroko on #Alpine!

Here’s me installing it on a fresh copy of #pmOS on a #Pixel3A to celebrate!

Thanks the person on my original #Mastodon post for convincing me and the Alpine #aports team.

I did #Fedi! The joke is now reality. Please #boost as this is a big achievement for me!!!

I have had this photo lying around for almost a month now... it's probably about time to finally post it.

@panpantepan Also running #postmarketOS on a #GooglePixel3a and <3 the size. Wish there was a device that was the same size, or smaller, with better performance. :)

Mein Smartphone spinnt rum. 🙁

Seit ein paar Tagen schlechte Sprachqualität und teilweise nicht erreichbar. Nach Neustart bekam ich verpasste Anrufe. Liegt das an einem der letzten Updates oder am Pixel selbst?

Not only iOS and Android… Ubuntu Touch! (on Google Pixel 3a XL) [ENG 🇬🇧]

There’s no possibility to hide the fact that we have a very limited choice in the market for mobile device systems (smartphones), as we can basically choose between two systems – iOS by…

Nie tylko iOS i Android… Ubuntu Touch! (na Google Pixel 3a XL) – Tomasz Dunia Blog

🇬🇧 Interesting fact: I researched the topic and it turns out that on the #GooglePixel3a and #GooglePixel3aXL the #UbuntuTouch system works just fine and all features are available. Even such as the fingerprint reader!

@hexaheximal Is the Surface RT usable for real work or is it better to get a newer surface and install Arch with the linux-surface kernel? I am looking for a good linux-based iPad replacement with stylus support and touchscreen for school stuff. iPads really suck. The OS is very buggy and way too limiting to be usable(unless you're already sucked into their walled garden)

@ManuelBoe As mentioned in the alt text, the device shown in the photo is a Surface Pro 3, not a Surface RT.

The Surface RT is powered by a NVIDIA GPU, and.. well... you can probably see where I'm going with that... I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to buy a Surface RT.

However, mainline Linux on the Surface Pro 3 is VERY buggy. @justsoup has been working on adding the linux-surface kernel to postmarketOS, but it's far from working afaik.

@ManuelBoe If you just want an ARM-based laptop, the ASUS Chromebook CM14 (shown in the photo) is a pretty good low-cost option, although the screen isn't IPS (ugh) and the panfrost GPU drivers have a lot of graphical glitches (carefully hidden off-screen in the photo) at the moment.

There's also a Flip variant with a 360 degree hinge, touchscreen, and stylus, which sounds somewhat like what you're trying to do. That model is really hard to find though. (I personally failed to find one)
