While Project Anchorage aims to make our own slop-free/AI-free software alternatives, ERGAI aims to help reduce/ban AI usage in multiple areas in the world. From software to art to anything we really can with a few people to back this project up in that goal already.

Launched a general effort against all generative AI everywhere on @the's Forgejo with some people from their IRC server's (starlightnet.work) #no-ai channel.

I call it Entities Rivaling Generative AI. (ERGAI)

In the future ERGAI might be a partner/sister project to my @projectanchorage but it depends if the others on the team like the idea.

More details in this thread over the coming times.

Entities Rivaling Generative AI (ERGAI)

A collective of entities, originally from TSN's #no-ai IRC channel, which aim to reduce/ban usage of genAI in multiple areas of our planet.

Hello Twitter Fam!

This artificial tweet is being broadcasted to you via a Mastodon screenshot  🐘

I am active on there and very happy about the move. The grass is truly greener there. I hope you will join us one day.

If you are ready to join Mastodon,
here’s an easy Guide to Start:

STEP 1. CHOOSE AN INSTANCE 👇

An instance is just where your account will be hosted (there are many independent servers). Choose one with a community you like and a host your trust. But don’t worry too much about this, you can move later on.
Here’s a well done and easy list:
https://coxy.co/mastodon

STEP 2. REGISTER AN ACCOUNT 👇

Register on your instance’s Sign up page with the email of your choice and pick your username/handle. You can look for more instances here as well:
https://joinmastodon.org/servers

Your account will be reachable at @[email protected]

Comparison:

On Twitter: @YOURHANDLE
On Mastodon: @[email protected]

STEP 3. FIND PEOPLE TO FOLLOW 👇

There are no algorithm to suggest you things on Mastodon. You will have to search for people by yourself.

You can search for Twitter friends you know the Mastodon handle of. You can search for hashtags of topics you like and find interesting people that way. You can browse your Local feed (other people in the same instance as you) or the Federated feed to see posts you like and follow these people. All your follows' posts will then be in your Home feed.

Tip: If you feel overwhelmed by your Home feed, you can use the Lists feature to separate the people you follow in different feeds (per topics for example).

Step 4. ENJOY! 👇

Mastodon is a much more communal and peaceful place. You can use the Slow Mode feature to browse more relax. People use the Content Warnings feature to hide most of the very stressful stuff. People generally interact in a much more meaningful and genuine way. And yes! YOU CAN USE MORE CHARACTERS!!

OPTIONAL STEP 👇

If you have questions, come ask me on Mastodon! 🐘

you're reading that right - horse levels are at 100%

Great article by @startswithabang about how crowded it's getting up there (with lots of quotes from me): https://bigthink.com/starts-with-a-bang/earths-orbit-is-getting-crowded-heres-how-we-avoid-a-disaster/

By the way, the CRASH Clock, how long it would take for a collision in orbit if all satellite maneuvers suddenly stopped, is now down to 3 days as of late March (down from 3.8 days in January, and 5.5 days last June. Sigh.) https://outerspaceinstitute.ca/crashclock/

Earth’s orbit is getting crowded. Here’s how we avoid a disaster.

We’ve populated low-Earth orbit with satellites in record time — now we have to figure out how to keep it safe.

had to break into this really huge and overgrown building for this one, heard it goes down for miles. just trying to prove you can post to fedi from anywhere!
how about this instead? it's kind of lonely up here though...
