Dass die #fusarium|#toxine für die #gesundheit von Mensch und Tier schädlich sind, ist schon länger bekannt. Inzwischen sehen Experten die bestehenden Grenzwerte bzw. verbreitete Kontamination von #weizen kritisch, weil der langjährige Verzehr von belastetem Getreide zu größeren gesundheitlichen Problemen führen kann.
Eine Studie fand 2022 heraus, dass über die Hälfte des Weizens für menschliche Nahrung belastet war, im #tierfutter war die Belastung noch höher.

The U.S. Attorney's office *maybe* went over the top in claiming to know the motivations. It could also be as simple as overly enthusiastic nerdage and not wanting to have to leave their labs to do research.

But yeah, this was stupid. At the very least the researcher at UofM should be fired.
