AGI - Jannik Sinner ha vinto il suo sesto Masters 1000 della carriera, il primo a Indian Wells, battendo Daniil Medvedev 7-6(6) 7-6(4) dopo un'ora e 58 minuti al termine di un match equilibrato e giocato ad altissimi ritmi sin dall'inizio. Un torneo davvero stregato per il tennista russo che aveva già perso le finali del 2023 e del 2024 per merito di Carlos Alcaraz (sconfitto invece in questa edizione in semifinale dallo stesso Medvedev) e che stavolta nulla ha potuto contro un Sinner che ha sbagliato pochissimo e che nei momenti chiavi ha piazzato il colpo vincente.

I brividi maggiori l'azzurro li ha fatti provare ai suoi tifosi nel tie-break del secondo set quando si è trovato sotto 0-4, salvo poi recuperare e passare addirittura in vantaggio e poi trionfare 7-4. Una chance d'oro che il russo non ha saputo sfruttare e che ha consentito a Sinner di portare a casa il match e il trofeo.

Il successo in questo torneo Sinner lo ha dedicato ad Antonelli, il pilota della Mercedes fresco vincitore del Gp in Cina. "Sono un grande appassionato di Formula 1 - ha detto l'altoatesino - e avere un giovanissimo pilota che porta l’Italia al vertice è fantastico. È un grande giorno per il nostro Paese. Grazie Kimi”.

ATP – Jannik Sinner has won his sixth career Masters 1000 title, the first at Indian Wells, defeating Daniil Medvedev 7-6(6) 7-6(4) after one hour and 58 minutes in a closely contested match played at very high speeds from the start. It was a truly charmed tournament for the Russian tennis player, who had already lost the finals of 2023 and 2024 thanks to Carlos Alcaraz (defeated this edition in the semi-finals by the same Medvedev) and who this time was unable to do anything against a Sinner who made very few mistakes and who delivered the winning blow in the key moments.

The Italian gave his fans the biggest chills in the second set tie-break when he was down 0-4, only to recover and take the lead and then win 7-4. It was a golden opportunity that Medvedev didn’t know how to exploit and that allowed Sinner to take the match and the trophy.

There might be motions in limine that result in a decision by the Judge to exclude evidence the government obtained during the search of Mar-a-Lago or that Trump claims is protected by attorney-client privilege that could lead to pre-trial appeals.
The issues with this case and Judge Cannon are far from over.
