Night 9 #ChemKnitsChanukah

There were 3 bonus nights this year (two extra full skein options and tomorrow there will be a wrap up/bloopers/extras video). I only got one of the full sized colours so this is the last one I'm going to post a picture for!

This yarn has yak in it, so it's soft, but also very hard to figure out what it will look like when it's wet! So the testers were dyed with a "canary" skein of white and it was a really interesting video.

Here is the fleece, dyed and washed. Just for kicks, I modified a small portion (left) with soda ash (alkaline), which shifted the red tones to an olive green. Looking forward to what it will look like when dry!

There hasn't been much sun here over the summer, so I have stopped the #solardyeing experiments. The last two skeins were dyed with St John's wort (green) and logwood in the forth draw. In used bleached wool yarn (Kampes 2-trådigt ullgarn) and mordanted with aluminum formate.

Hello #knitting community! This is the first time I post something knitted, but I have eyed and admired all of your projects for a while now. Thought I'd share my current WIP which is going to be a stranded hoodie, that is based on an instruction from the book 'Färga garn och sticka'. It is knit in lace yarn - Kampes 1-trådigt ullgarn with a gauge of 36 sts x 36 rows. I dyed the orange/red yarn myself with Kool Aid. I'm planning on steeking once I'm done.
