@sn0n Are you talking about a foundation chain? My answer would be that you need to make the chain stitches WAY looser than you think because they do tighten up as you make the next stitch. They'll also tighten more when you put the next row into them so it doesn't hurt to make them extra loose.

But yeah, short answer, you gotta try it a few times before you find the right tension for you. Good luck! ❤️🧶

St Brigid update #2
Washed and on the blocking mat.
It's really hard to capture the colour of the yarn, but this is pretty close.
I think that the cables are showing better definition after this wash.

I cast on the front while the weekends rolls were baking, with a nice cup of tea (of course 🇬🇧 )
