Follow-up: AH-HAH! The yarn is, in fact, from Uradale Yarns, Shetland. https://www.uradale.com/collections/yarn/products/organic-unbleched-undyed-yarn?variant=56896735445376

Its colourway *is* actually Shoormal. My cone has a bit warmer tone than the ball pictured; more creamy in the body fibre.

Which is cool. They have an entire set of unbleached-undyed yarns, as well as unbleached but dyed wools.

Not that I am obsessive or anything. Oh no, not meeee…

Organic unbleached undyed yarn

The first of several write-ups is ready on my site. This one is about harvesting the cotton yarns from worn-out socks.
I'm not entirely sure what my intended audience is for this, and I'm using a fair amount of jargon. For now, at least it's enough detail for a future fluffysoft to look back and do it again with more ease.

I'm happy to answer related questions, and I'll probably update this write-up at some point.

@mrundkvist This is so wonderful! It's the kind of #embroidery #art we would show in our French cultural heritage museum, if she would live here. So give her this as a big compliment!

I'm proud to have completed my most ambitious tablet weaving project so far. This is an intricately detailed belt with a mix of traditional and self-designed patterns. It's made from 100% cotton that I've pulled and re-spun from worn-out socks, and then dyed with recycled and plant-based materials.

It was about 2 months of work, and 5 sock-ankles-worth of cotton. I'm still working on the write-up for my website, because there's a lot to say about it.

Finished my first two #crocheting projects—two beanies! The thicker one is #wool and was the second one I made. Also shown is my first ever crocheted piece, made from black #cotton.

I do prefer the looks of the wool version, but for a first attempt the cotton one is quite nice too. Both were largely made during my many train travels the past few months.
