One of the least expected experiences I’ve had recently was having these guys show up in the river where I was photographing eagles.

These California sea lions swam several hundred metres up stream from the estuary to hunt for salmon and ended up hanging out on the same stretch of river as me for about an hour. They played, ate a boatload of salmon, and even paused to give me some stink eye.
