The #EU needs to pass a law to make it illegal to sell any computing device with a locked #bootloader, so that third-party developers can always load alternate operating systems.
I'm in the US, but I'm literally surrounded by devices that are still perfectly functional, but obsolete because the manufacturers refuse to provide them with software updates and refuse to allow me to load other operating systems.
The US will never pass such a law, but the EU could, just like with USB-C. #FOSS

We'll likely be able to make hardened builds of firmware and drivers which can be released in an official way for easy builds without needing to extract anything from the GrapheneOS or Motorola OS factory images.
