Officials in Reedley, California said they had tried to warn federal authorities about the possibility of similar labs after one was found there in 2023.
Federal and local authorities are investigating after a suspected biological laboratory was found inside a home in Las Vegas over the weekend. One person was arrested. SWAT officers served a search warrant on Saturday after receiving a tip that a biolab was located at the residence on the city’s east side. A police statement Monday says investigators “located evidence of possible biological material, including refrigerators containing vials with unknown liquids." Sheriff Kevin McMahill says there's no threat to the community. Officials planned to release further details at a Monday afternoon news conference.
