I'm seeing disturbing patterns of behavior from #ONT #sequencing vendors.

Guys, no one cares about your flye/autocycler assembly pipeline & cookie cutter plots. Deliver at least fastq and in most cases pod5 to your customers. If you make that step difficult, your business is built on theft.

Academics, if a vendor is hesitant about offloading raw data to you ASAP (darn things are expensive to store), something's gone terribly wrong. Or the vendor thinks you're dumb, or both.

Greenland’s 4,500-year-old middens hold ancient bacteria and centuries-old antibiotic resistance genes, including a seal-skin layer that’s nearly half Clostridium perfringens. The risk of escape: low, for now. #Archaeology #Microbiology #ArcticScience https://www.anthropology.net/p/what-4500-years-of-greenlands-garbage
What 4,500 Years of Greenland’s Garbage Reveals About Bacteria, Not Plagues

A genomic survey of Inuit and Norse waste heaps found centuries-old pathogens and antibiotic resistance genes still detectable in the permafrost. The researchers also found they’re not going anywhere.
