My best of 2024 and a new atmospheric direction for my eye. When the auditory world is noisy, the visual clarity of the mist becomes loud.

In this silence, everything aligned: the geometric deadwood, the fractal frost, and the density of the Puget Sound blue. My mind finds its logic here—architecting a "core truth" from the complex stillness of a frozen bog.

ULTHA are a #BlackMetal band from Cologne with an impeccable back catalogue. One can get their albums and other outputs pretty much blind - cuz they're that good. Their BM is also of the #Atmospheric variety, if you care about such distinctions.

I got their new full length, released as usual without any fanfare, a few days ago. It's a big album (70+ min.) with many layers to it, so I can't say much about it other than: it's great! It leans heavy towards #Goth / #PostPunk and has bits of #Ambient and #TripHop, among other things. Nice to have for your #BlackMetalMonday -
