The trajectory of Janos Emporio stretches across decades of musical transformation while preserving one central element: curiosity as a permanent driving force. By the early 1990s, electronic music emerged as a new point of expansion. Tshepiso Abednigo Tsotetsi, better known as Shakez Von Nigo, was born and raised in Small Farm, Evaton, south of Johannesburg in South Africa’s Vaal region. DJ, producer, and label founder, his trajectory has been shaped through a deeply independent vision, building his own network of sonic circulation between South Africa and multiple international electronic music circuits. Rather than chasing immediate visibility, his work has evolved through consistency: a sustained practice where groove, identity, and community gradually converge into a unified artistic direction.

His recording debut arrived in 2017 through Deepwit Records’ compilation ‘Autumn Air Vol. 6’, opening a path that later expanded through labels such as Rosali Records, Arawakan Records, Mokjay Records, and his own imprint. In 2018, he co-founded Von Nigo Records alongside his uncle DJ Bantu, establishing a platform dedicated to the international production and distribution of South African house and its electronic mutations.
