The Sanctuary ⛪ for #spookysaturday

As you open the heavy wooden doors you see incense smoke curl and spiral around the empty pews.
Behind the altar, the wooden statue of Christ begins to weep real blood, his face contorted in agony.
As you walk towards the altar, reaching out to touch it, your legs buckle and crack beneath you as the bones break.
You hear the sound of the heavy oak doors slam shut, locking without a key.
Silence.
Then suddenly, coming from the organ pipes, a droning, rhythmic hum emerges.
Shadows slither out from beneath the pulpit.
"Welcome" they rasp. "We have been waiting for a new vessel".

This is the Basilica di San Francesco and is not actually creepy in real life 😂. Actually, it was a very lovely and sunny day when I took the unedited picture! ✨ (Still haven't figured out how to make good fog though, but we'll get there)

A good few years ago some friends and I snuck into the abandoned (and notoriously haunted) Denbigh Asylum. I took loads of photos that day and when I finally had the chance to go through them I found this one. I sent it to my friend telling him I'd caught him in "ghost mode" and he told me (swore up and down) that he wasn't in that room with me. So here you go... #BelieveItOrNot
