I reckon we’ve drunk from over 100 town water supplies in the last two months in 4 countries and not got sick.

Depressingly 99% of them tasted great and did not have any chlorine taste or odour.

Why depressing? In the last 10 years most kiwi water supplies have been chlorinated and taste awful.

Anybody know what’s different in NZ?

I am looking forward to watching this (available from Monday 30 April). It is the history we pākehā in particular need to know and understand, especially we older ones. We are woefully, and at times, wilfully, ignorant of our history, especially the nature of colonisation, and the suffering and devastation it brought.

Earlier in the month I was at the #BoyleOutdoorEducationCentre, helping teach #LincolnUniversityNZ's third-year field ecology course. It's where students do their own research. One student, Katie, was eager to do a study comparing tūī and korimako. We convinced her not to as we hardly ever see tūī.
Then, perhaps as expected, a tūī ended up visiting a flowering NZ flax right by the lodge every day.
Tūī are like that. Flamboyant contrarians.

Headed out to Karekare for an afternoons shooting. Sent the drone up a couple of times and managed to clog to rotors with sand after a hilariously failed take off 😂
