and for the rest of y'all these "big picture system #ecology problems. #climatechange. #soil. #water. #resources running out. serious business." have not gone away. they are being amplified by the day.

where are the leaders who not only know it, not only think about, but help US TO PREPARE LIVING IN IT???

The problem with that is that a lot of plastic bags are actually recyclable now, my trash bin rarely actually fills anymore it takes months to be filled with detritus, tiny packaging waste, small broken things and the few packaging items that aren't recyclable

There are no longer any bags that end up in my trash, and if it were tipped upside down outside the wind would carry a lot of the detritus away

In principle yes there should be developed a trash collection system that doesn't need lots of trash bags, maybe that system in some scandinavian countries where there is a street bin that leads to an underground chute to a huge underground dumpster for the whole street that can be collected in bulk - perhaps this system could be designed to allow for all trash to be dumped down the chute unbagged

Effective #activism, especially with issues like #environmentalism that have economic associations, can revolve heavily around simply framing issues.

In this video, #TechnologyConnections presents a really good argumentation, one that can be boiled down to a few simple statements and easily expanded with piles of facts, which can take people on the fence about #RenewableEnergy like #SolarPower to understanding that it's actually a good idea, by talking about how #FossilFuels are burned constantly, as a one-time-use, while #SolarPanels and #batteries are a one-time-purchase that quickly pay for themselves in those savings in their years and years worth of charges.

It's a good video, and I recommend people watch it if you think you're going to get into a conversation about this at some point in the near future.

This is how we change the world!

Bullshit lists & organizations like this https://www.52climateactions.com/index.php/about

which don't at all show or account for the real & large pollution generators ( economically rich people, multinational corporations and militaries) and which disregard the wasteful centralized systems which often are mandatory to connect to , including transportation, energy generation, energy (including electric & petrochemical) distribution, medical assistance, and water distribution, are why I've stepped back so sizably from my former efforts at helping environmentalist causes organizationally.

*I still do support a global reduction on plastics pollution, but that's to say I believe and support a ban on commercial plastic fishing gear, and a mandatory collection of all that exists now, as it's about 70% I'd said problem.

Similarly I still do support a global reduction in human derived greenhouse gas emissions, via a 95%+ cut to the US military budget, which produces about 70% of them globally & at least a redoing of power grids to end the centralization problem, which would cut emissions down by at least another 25% in the #USA, (this would be without any individual person cutting their electric use, rather allow for the need of many poor people to have their usage rise for safety & give margin for the renewable energy generation recycling plant network to function within).
