Am Sonntag habe ich eine kleine Radtour mit meinem fast neuen #Canyon #EMTB (350 km) gemacht, das bereits mehrmals in der Werkstatt war. Nach 25km lautes knarzen und klackern, auch im Leerlauf. Der nächste freie Termin im Münchner Canyon-Store wäre der 30.Juli - ohne Worte. Ich hab sowas von die Schnauze voll. Nie wieder #canyonbikes. #servicewuste #fahrrad

Yeah, I Oaksed it. Slightly faster down, slightly slower up. I definitely felt it more than last time, probably because I pushed in the singletrack, hitting my max HR there. So downhill/flattish was where I worked hardest. 🤷 Too much fun is barely enough. 😎

Not wanting to venture far on a test ride, I decided Lake Woodford would do perfectly. Perfect it did. The recent burn off was fairly sensitive—the track beside the lake is untouched, but all the climbs are burnt at least one side.

Local bike shop was disappointing. I didn't buy it there, so they'll sell bits, but won't service. I understand not touching unfamiliar motors, etc, but the rest is just ordinary mtb.
Too busy... To even offer to book me in when you're not? I didn't ask for urgency or warranty. Didn't even believe my BB wasn't part of the motor.
Just. Not. Interested. Blah blah [you'll have to] "Go back where you bought it. I'll sell you the parts. That's all."

Both local(ish) bike shops were closed, so I went for a creak. Sekrit singletrack, & a side hunt for old faves Twister, Junkyard, & Postie Pass. Alas, only portions remain of once very popular riding, with a number of built features & a car rollover lost to time.
The currently maintained tracks are fun, if a little tight on longer bikes (mine). I grabbed a small tree for balance one hairpin, & we both fell over! 😂 There's blood in the pic! Tis but a scratch, etc
😒 The creak
I foresee a visit to the bike shop in my near future. 😥
I removed all I could, motor, battery, chain, cranks, cleaned it all up, & put it back together with the correct torque.
Everything works as expected (phew), but...it still bloody creaks.🤬 Maybe the BB? I left that alone—my tools don't work because *standards* & I don't want to buy new tools because *standards* [xkcd_standards.gif].
Hopefully that's it. Easy, relatively cheap.🤞
