Finally got to watch #Oppenheimer and all I can say is “wow!” It was fantastic. It was everything I had heard about the #movie, and more.

Perhaps I was helped by the fact that I’ve read the book it was based on, #AmericanPrometheus, and therefore have a leg up on the story. But I thought the film was incredibly fast paced, despite being 3 hours long. #ChristopherNolan really kept the story moving forward. The #film looked great, and the cast was superb. Thumbs 👍

I haven't seen the #Oppenheimer movie, but I just finished the book, the Pulitzer Prize–winning #AmericanPrometheus by Kai Bird & Martin J. Sherwin. Compelling, brilliantly researched, vast in scope from quantum physics' golden era through WWII and the Cold War...just remarkable.

A perspective little seen in main stream media: looking at #Oppenheimer as an opportunity to act, by an #anti-war activist. I don't agree that the film could have been told through the eyes of a scientist who opposed the bomb (Winograd doesn't refer to the source book, #AmericanPrometheus, at all). Nolan's Oppenheimer befindet sich wie Teilchen in der Quantenphysik in unmöglichen Positionen und funktioniert dennoch. Er ist gleichzeitig für die Entwicklung der Atom-Bombe und dagegen das sie (weiter) benutzt wird. Der Film hinterlässt tief grübelnt zurück, aber zurecht. I didn’t intentionally finish this book on the day that the movie was released!! When you read a 700-plus page book, you finish it when you finish it. Still, pretty cool timing.

This book was amazing. Can’t wait to see the film!
