Throughout my career, I learned that clear communication isn't always welcome. Had to realize that work isn't just about following rules—it's about navigating the grays of human interaction. Sometimes adapting is necessary, but maybe the system needs to change too.

Am I the problem?

I got my first job at 17, and it didn't take long to realize that interacting with people—especially customers—wasn't as simple as I'd thought.

I may have announced, in front of a non-trivial group of colleagues, that I needed to leave the vicinity of a colleague's cute baby as I would otherwise remove my coil and have another one. So now a group of colleagues knows my birth control... oops. #ADHDatwork (yes I have been thinking about this all day 🤦🏻‍♀️)

I think something about my face makes neurotypical women between 45 and 60 extra judgemental 🙃

How do I make my older colleague stop talking to me like I'm a child who refuses to learn things when I'm 100 % sure she doesn't realise she's doing that?

Unlock the Potential: How ADHD in the Workplace Enriches Diversity

Too often, the added value, talents and unique perspectives of colleagues with ADHD are overshadowed by prejudices and incorrect assumptions, such as people with ADHD cannot sit still or are lazy. The study ‘Workplace Neurodiversity: The Power Of Difference’ conducted by the ‘Institute of Leadership & Management’ showed that ADHD has the most stigma in the workplace and that 32% of the companies surveyed would not hire employees with that neurotype. That is why we believe that ADHD deserves a place in the spotlight, and there is no better time to do this than during ‘ADHD Awareness Month’. Discover the added value of this neurotype in this article and how colleagues with ADHD enrich your team and organization with their contributions.

It’s been a revelation. Is this what I have been missing all this time? Is this what neurotypical people experience most of the time?

It is still early days, but I could get use to this.

As always at work I'm very focused on almost, but not entirely, the exact wrong thing.

Ok, it's important: renaming our Learning reports and adding descriptions & comments to make it possible for the entire training department find the correct info (I have overhauled our reports because the info people THINK they are collecting and the info they ARE collecting are not always the same thing).

But I'm ignoring so many more pressing items to do this!
