When I lived in #Youbou - one block from #LakeCowichan & the area was totally flooded for a few days. This #dock access had its whole boardwalk go underwater.

I saw an Elk for the first time slow and up close! Looked like two young bucks. Youbou is famous for having Elk just wandering around town.

Here's a younger #bull #elk - from my past homesteading life, in #Youbou on the shores of #LakeCowichan

You can hear me tell trespassers to stay out of my yard. They ignored my no trespassing sign & lifted rope gate to try to get closer to the elk. Not cool on both fronts. Don't try getting close & respect wildlife with distance. These elk can easily maim/kill humans if spooked & feel threatened. Leave them alone!

When I lived in #Youbou & had #RooseveltElk visit daily. I miss living on edge of wilderness. Hoping I can get back to homesteading life in the future, with a better kindred partner who shares similar simple lifestyle dreams 🙌

The rental property house that I used to live at while we were in #Youbou 🦅 My ex & I lived there for almost 3 yrs before the house was sold. We moved to a half acre in rural Cedar & lived there for 2.5 yrs before we split up. I liked Cedar community better. I liked easy access to lake & wilderness while in Youbou though. It was a short 2 minute stroll to locals small beach spot from our backyard.

I hosted some live music parties during my time in Youbou because I love live music 🎶🥰🎶🎸🥁🎙🤘
