This piece by Heather Plett resonates strongly today, given the political and environmental storms swirling around us. Treat yourself and give it a read. #solarpunk #environment #workthatreconnects #community #grief #griefwork
Love, Loss and Longing: Grief as a portal

Reflecting on grief as a practice that heals and roots us

A Tender Space

I've been thinking a lot about the idea of non-duality. If we are truly one with Earth, do we simultaneously feel within us the struggles that the planet is enduring right now? Are my feelings of overwhelm and hopelessness a mirror image of what Earth is experiencing? Can this connection birth strategies to help us collectively heal? What are your thoughts?

@dudinka Check out https://workthatreconnects.org/. It's the work of Joanna Macy, eco-philosopher and systems theorist. If you check your location, you may find programs near you. They are also available online. You can also check the podcast We Are The Great Turning. WTR traverses gratitude, honoring our pain, seeing with new eyes and going forth (bringing change) Good stuff. #workthatreconnects

I found a place to start a local Work that Reconnects community of practice! WTR does just that; it helps us to see and feel our place as an interdependent part of the world around us. It connects us back to the earth and lets us see that we are part of, not above, other beings. In a world of polycrisis, it offers direction. It's great for climate activist burnout. I can't wait to share it with my local community! #climate

#threegoodthings #3goodthings 1. I took time for myself last night and wrote out a thank you note to someone who attended my #workthatreconnects program last week; she sent one first. 2. Sent a card (with turtle and frog stickers!) to an #actuallyautistic friend who is struggling and feeling alone. 3. Realized that every week I make a list and do the essential things, but not the uplifting things. Changing that this week. #community
#workthatreconnects #joannamacy #sustainability #EmergentStrategies I offered a Work that Reconnects class yesterday for 15 people called Honoring our Pain for the World. We started in gratitude and then had space for speaking our pain: personal, national, global & ecological. People provided compassionate witnessing. It was powerful to put words to the grief, build community and realize we are not alone. We have to work together to make change, especially now.
