#workthatreconnects #joannamacy #sustainability #EmergentStrategies I offered a Work that Reconnects class yesterday for 15 people called Honoring our Pain for the World. We started in gratitude and then had space for speaking our pain: personal, national, global & ecological. People provided compassionate witnessing. It was powerful to put words to the grief, build community and realize we are not alone. We have to work together to make change, especially now.
I’ve been giving a lot of thought to grief as a transformative property. It’s not a new concept. Grief can freeze us, causing stagnation & loss of connection. Our discomfort with grief causes us to flee its presence. What if we could look at it and learn from it? Climate grief, election grief, etc. are powerful because they honor our love for things. Let’s start looking at them and learning. What might emerge? #Grief #EmergentStrategies #workthatreconnects #empowerment #thoughts #climate

I’ve created a daily reminder of adrienne maree brown’s Principles of #EmergentStrategies to help keep me centered on my professional values.

I’m holding extra tight to

-“Never a failure, always a lesson”
