Hi all, I've just moved to social.lol from a self-hosted instance, so it's time
for an updated #introduction

One of my big passions is writing: I have a personal website @
https://kedara.eu where I #blog, tend a #DigitalGarden and web weave a #wiki ,
and try to contribute to the #Indieweb #smallweb communities.

I'm very much into #yoga and #meditation and everything related to that. I'm
trying to learn #Sanskrit because its a beautiful language and also in order to
be able to read text like the #BhagavadGita #Upanishads #YogaSutras
#BhagavataPurana which greatly inspire me.

I'm from the #Netherlands and work in #science in the field of outdoor
#AirQuality I may occasionally share something about that, but this is not a
work account (and any opinions are my own).

I love #photography and am slowly getting back into #AnalogPhotography again,
mostly related to #nature #weather #clouds #trees and other beautiful moments,
people and things. I love the #forest, I'm grateful to live at the edge of the
beautiful #Veluwe nature area.

Unfortunately I'm operating at half power thanks to #LongCovid since Feb. '22,
so some of my hobbies are in "partial maintenance mode".

Bij de brand op de Veluwe is zo'n 500 hectare natuur in vlammen opgegaan. En dat is niet alleen voor het groen - maar ook voor dieren die er leven een regelrechte ramp. Grote dieren kunnen nog wel wegkomen, maar kleine of pasgeboren dieren zijn al snel de klos - zagen ze ook vorig jaar na een brand in Ede.

Hoeveel natuur is er verloren gegaan bij de brand op defensieterrein 't Harde?

<p>Een uitzonderlijk grote brand ontstond aan het eind van woensdagochtend op een oefenterrein van Defensie bij 't Harde op de Veluwe. De rookwolk was tot in Den Haag te zien en in een groot deel van het land ging een NL-Alert uit. Maureen Paul van de Veiligheidsregio Noord- en Oost-Gelderland vertelt in <i>Met het Oog op Morgen</i> hoe het vuur zich zo snel kon verspreiden. Twee-derde van de defensieterreinen heeft de status van beschermd natuurgebied. Dat geldt ook voor het oefenterrein bij 't Harde. Iris de Ronde werkte jarenlang als ecoloog voor het Rijksvastgoedbedrijf en kent het oefenterrein bij 't Harde goed.</p>
