Absolutely beautiful day! Gorgeous run! It's now chilly enough for wind pants, windbreaker, toque and gloves. But beautiful and sunny!

First week of the last training block of the year done. Seven weeks until the solstice and my solo race. November is usually when I start making plans for next year. I've got a solo trail race planned for June and a long bike trip for August. Anyone else cooking up plans yet?

Beautiful ride this afternoon sussing out potential running routes for my self-supported ultra in November. Did the Big Loop Around Ottawa and with the detours managed to fit in 42.5km. If I can tack on another 8km, that might do! I have a few more possibilities to explore and nine weeks!
When I was looking for routes, I came across an 800km bike packing route. It has been years (pre-kids) since I did any long bike trips but I will admit, I am considering it. I might do a little research and see if I can come up with a training plan so I would be able to pull it off.
