Yesterday was milder, relatively speaking, and we had some melting. I managed a 40m/60k loop. It's slow going, but I'm on 35mm tires at 40psi, which I feel matches the conditions. Beautiful ride this afternoon sussing out potential running routes for my self-supported ultra in November. Did the Big Loop Around Ottawa and with the detours managed to fit in 42.5km. If I can tack on another 8km, that might do! I have a few more possibilities to explore and nine weeks!
When I was looking for routes, I came across an 800km bike packing route. It has been years (pre-kids) since I did any long bike trips but I will admit, I am considering it. I might do a little research and see if I can come up with a training plan so I would be able to pull it off.
