I pulled up to a red light on my bike and drove onto the sidewalk to press the crosswalk button. Technically, I didn't need it but I figure it can't hurt. I stayed on the sidewalk to let any right-turning vehicles go—none—while I wait for the green.
The light changes and I start to ride forward when a vehicle turned right in front of me forcing me to brake in the intersection. I was at the light first, wearing a safety orange T-shirt, and a wide bright flashing red light. Not enough.
