@mayintoronto yes but only because they're mainly #OttBike tw-tter diaspora, many of whom used to meet up semi-regularly in The Before Times. (I actually suggested it a while back but there wasn't much interest and I didn't try very hard)
#OttBike report: a bit soggy but so very smug.

CBC reports: Ottawa bike share will cost just 2% of Landsdowne 2.0 - a bargain!!

Bringing bike-sharing back to Ottawa will cost $10M, study says

A driver ran a red light and hit this cyclist. That wasn’t enough for police to show up | CBC News

A cyclist who was struck by a vehicle while riding in a bike lane on Slater Street late last month says he’s frustrated with how Ottawa police responded when he called their non-emergency line to report the collision.

@mayintoronto I could talk for quite some time about bicycle parking, including each of many different subtopics (having been responsible for overseeing the parking of over 100,000 of them myself) #OttBike #OttBikePark
Perhaps a spicy #OttBike take but this might be my favourite time of year for bike commuting. Snow and salt are mostly gone so I can pull out my summer bike. If you dress well, the weather is fine and bikeways aren't crowded with people yet.

Another update from my run:

-Mud lake loop is 99.9% snow and ice free and only minimally muddy. I imagine other similarly wooded areas are in like conditions.

-Not many turkeys, they seem to have moved to other parts of town.

It has taken Belgium and the Netherlands by storm, but in the rest of the world, a wayfinding system based on nodes is not known. For fun, as a thought exercise, I created a recreational #bicycle network for Ottawa-Gatineau, based on nodes to see if that could work. As a bonus, I added numbered nodes. #ottbike #BikeTooter #cycling #bike

An on line Ottawa - Gatineau recreational cycling map - Hans on the Bike - Cycling in Ottawa and beyond

This is an excellent online, interactive map you can zoom in and out, giving you the most detail fo the recreational bike paths in the region.

Hans on the Bike - Cycling in Ottawa and beyond

-No longer any path-spanning snow or ice patches (on the main/through path, some side paths do have them still).

-Commute is faster and less stressful being away from drivers, despite being ~15% longer.

While some protected intersections do exist in Toronto, we still have a long way to go to catch up to Ottawa! 😉 #BikeTO #ottbike #BikeSky
