Asking the Linux-Community:
There is this great Android tool on fdroid " Privacy Friendly Tape Measure" (in German: Maßband) which allows to measure stuff in photos by knowing the size of known reference objects (e.g an A4 page or an 2 Euro coin).

Do you know of something similar for Linux - be it a single program or a plugin for a Linux software?
(Background: I have to renovate and done a lot of pictures of different stuff to do, would prefer to do some "measurements" on a "real screen" and not the small touchy mobile phone screen. Yes, I know that this is no replacement for "real" measurements, but sizing some standard fittings such as flush-mounted sockets or kitchen sinks is possible with such tool.)

This could soon become a reality thanks to a novel robotic gripper developed by researchers at the University of California San Diego. Inspired by the humble measuring tape, this innovative device
So I made some 3D Printed Warhammer 40K tape measures.
Worked out well, with nice action. Some faffing with the tape transfer from the IKEA tape measure. Probably need to update the Printables model with some instructions.

So I updated the thing that I designed and made, a 3D printable tape measure case, to now have an IKEA Trixig tape measure version. You to can now have your own customised tape measure.....preppy!
You can download it here https://www.printables.com/model/1123336-tape-measure-case-ikea-silverline
