Gasoline #taxes pay for, among other things in general revenue, creation and upkeep of provincial #roadways.

Electric cars use roadways, and may indeed cause more wear and tear than an equivalent ICE vehicle (because of their greater mass due to the traction battery). But electric cars don't pay gasoline taxes.

So unless you want EV drivers - who, remember, are in general wealthier than ICE drivers - being #subsidized by ICE drivers, you have to charge EV users somehow. How?
