Città del Vaticano, 9 mar. (askanews) - "Cari fratelli e sorelle, dall'Iran e da tutto il Medio Oriente continuano a giungere notizie che destano profonda costernazione. Agli episodi di violenza e devastazione e al diffuso clima di odio e paura si aggiunge il timore che il conflitto si allarghi e altri Paesi della regione tra cui il caro Libano possano sprofondare nuovamente nell'instabilità. Eleviamo la nostra umile preghiera al Signore perché cessi il fragore delle bombe, tacciano le armi e si aprano spazi di dialogo del quale si possa sentire la voce dei popoli". Lo ha detto il Papa al termine della recita dell'Angelus in piazza San Pietro.

To the episodes of violence and devastation and the widespread climate of hatred and fear, there is the fear that the conflict will spread and other countries in the region, including the dear Lebanon, may plunge again into instability. We raise our humble prayer to the Lord that the thunder of bombs cease, weapons fall silent, and spaces for dialogue may open, in which the voices of the peoples can be heard.” He said this the Pope at the end of the recitation of the Angelus in St. Peter's Square.
Downpour in St. Peters
On Saturday, a friend and I took the bus to St. Peter’s. Don’t worry, we put it back again.
We took a look at Mocketts Wood and the Churchyard nearby. It seems like the powers that be are doing some rewilding and reorganising in the woods. Some paths were closed and others were “fenced off”. This all-natural way to fence areas off promotes new growth and wildlife diversity, both of which are good things.
While we were looking around, the heavens opened and we got utterly soaked in moments. At one point, as we were getting out of St Peter’s and back to the nearest bus stop, the water on the pavements was flowing ankle deep. I have never been so glad to have been wearing boots.
