Flower Carpet

Once I entered this old patch of woods at the edge of my hometown, the wild garlic aroma was thick. In between the trees, the forest floor was a patched flower carpet of white and purplish blue. How I love this place in spring. Because of the large quantity of bluebells, I find myself here each year again.

Beech Forest

The forest floor in the beautiful Jasmund Nationalpark on Rügen, Germany's largest island, turns into a green and white carpet each spring. Millions of wood anemones then bloom between the trees in this vast beech forest. A magnificent sight.
