@linuxallday Probably, this one application is #Gnote and #SimpleScan, which I frequently use for note-taking. All other applications that I rely on are cross-platform: #Thunderbird, #Firefox, #LibreOffice, #R, #RStudio, #Stata, #Zotero, #Xodo #PDFStudio (formerly Qoppa), #Inkscape, #Gimp, #Geany, #Zoom, #TeamsforLinux, #Webex
Detlev Zundel [Team Human]@AdrianVovk @zed Well it seems that we start from different premises, and then (unsurprisingly) we reach different conclusions. For me the indication of scroll bars is information and thus absolutely no noise and thus should not be hidden.
Here is an example of where this totally fails in #Gnome - more precisely in #SimpleScan. I scanned three empty pages and the UI somehow decided to hide the horizontal scroll bars completely, showing only two of the pages:

Wenn ich einfach nur irgendwas "als PDF" einscannen möchte, dann verwende ich entweder "Document Scanner" (aka simple-scan, Gnome) oder "skanlite" (KDE) oder "skanpage" (auch KDE).

Cool, kannte ich noch nicht, teste ich dann bei Gelegenheit auch mal.
Bisher hatte ich meistens das Gnome-Tool Simple-Scan aka "Document Scanner" verwendet (das funktioniert unter KDE natürlich auch).

Laïc SaloçinMon #bug du jour sous #simplescan, avec #linux: suite à l'enregistrement du document scanné, SimpleScan affichait : "L'execution du processus fils a échoué (aucun fichier ou dossier de ce nom)"
Solution: il suffit de décocher "Activer le post-traitement" dans les préférences (SimpleScan a continué à m'afficher l'option active, mais fait disparaitre le sous-menu... autre bug mineur...)

Mehr brauch ich eigtl. nicht, um einigermaßen glücklich zu sein im täglichen Gedöns. Sowas wie Notiz- und Adressbücher - ganz gleich, ob als App auf em Ackerschnacker oder auf'm PC - brauche ich nicht, weil ich das, von einigen wenigen Telefonnummern abgesehen, viel lieber im Notizbuch, so richtig mit Füller und Papier, bei mir habe. :smile:
