This, the affluent North Seattle neighborhood will tell helicopters are quite the nuisance. Such a nuisance that a neighborhood group wanted to make sure the hospital wasn't landing flights on the helipad for non-emergency reasons, like a broken leg.

#SeattleChildrensHospital mgmt told staff to get ready to train 1200 traveller nurses if WSNA goes on strike.

Travellers generally cost at least 4X regular staff and can cost much more. The hospital almost entirely stopped using them because of the high cost.

I'm thinking this would work against them trying to convince anyone they don't have the money to just freaking pay their nurses more. Maybe I'm wrong. #unions #union

https://www.foodforallor.org/get-involved I learned about SB 611, which is an Oregon bill that will allow undocumented immigrants to receive food assistance like SNAP. I used the form on the site to send a message to my representatives in support of this bill. I personalized it a little.

I sent an email to the hospital's leadership team, asking them to reinstate this care. I took the form letter and made it very personal, talking about my own suicide attempts and then surgery journey.
