OK.

I used to work in software. I am now majoring in journalism and English as a minor at my local community college, here in #Oregon.

I am getting out of doing software development because almost all of the entry-level jobs are gone. Also, a lot of intermediate-level tech job positions are being retooled and gradually redefined to mesh with constant use of AI. Probably a quarter or at most 33% of all American tech jobs have now been replaced by AI. Machines in one sense are doing too much thinking for humans. This software-based development is encroaching into every job area. I see it as a conundrum while people with money (investors) see it as an opportunity.

Oregon's economy with regard to tech jobs or available tech work outside of the Portland and surrounding areas has always been mediocre at best.

Taking the larger picture into account with respect to how the national economy is performing, I feel that many areas in our economy are rigid and to me seem borderline moribund. What I mean by "moribund" is these jobs are on the verge of becoming obsolete.

Our so-called leaders have mostly refused to address this in any meaningful way: especially the GOP side of politics.

The trump admin did away with a lot of #SBA loans. I don't want to hear that this was because of changing needs in the economy or a bureaucratic slip or oversight. Trump is one of the most privileged people to have ever become President of this country.

The trump admin dismantled the SBA (Small Business Administration) because their goal was to remove excess from the federal government and also extremely wealthy people such as Donald Trump do favor monopolies. Tesla kind of used to be a monopoly before other vehicle manufacturers came on the scene with introducing their own E.V.'s. Microsoft was considered a true monopoly in many areas of technology for a while. Regarding desktop operating systems, I'd have to say that Microsoft certainly is still a functioning monopoly in that one respect.

SBA Announces New “Made in America Loan Guarantee” to Restore Manufacturing Dominance | U.S. Small Business Administration

WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that small manufacturers across the country will soon be eligible for enhanced support through the SBA’s International Trade Loan (ITL) Program. The loans, which come with a 90% federal guarantee, will help manufacturers expand facilities, hire workers, and increase production – as part of the Trump Administration’s broader effort to rebuild America’s industrial dominance and strength.
