CONAN DailyBorneo Tribal Squad’s AJ Lias Mansor: Jeremy Miado has heavy hands
For two weeks, Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado, 25, of Marikina City, Metro Manila, Philippines stayed in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia to train at Borneo Tribal Squad. He worked closely with the mixed martial arts team’s founder AJ “Pyro” Lias Mansor, 43.

Mansor is one of the finest MMA coaches in Asia. He is responsible for developing Malaysian MMA queen Ann “Athena” Osman.
“Jeremy has heavy hands,” Mansor said. “He has knockout power, but the glaring area that needs improvement is his grappling. We focused on that during his stay in Kota Kinabalu. We also gave him a good conditioning program to maximize his stamina and endurance.”
Under the tutelage of Mansor, Miado learned invaluable tricks of the trade in grappling arts such as wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The Filipino ONE Championship athlete briefly left his home in Marikina City to supplement his growth as an athlete by spending time at Borneo Tribal Squad, which is one of the top MMA gyms in Asia.

Miado is fully aware that the grappling aspect of the sport is his Achilles’ heel. This prompted him to give solid attention to his ground game at Borneo Tribal Squad.
“Training with people that have the same mindset as yours is something that you need to consider if you want to grow in this sport,” Miado said. “I am so thankful for their hospitality. I will definitely be back.”
The Filipino fighter is praised for his tremendous power in both hands. This became very famous when he knocked out former ONE Strawweight World Champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke of Thailand on March 2018.
In Miado’s most recent outing, which was on June 2018, he suffered a three-round unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Thai wrestler Kritsada Kongsrichai.
