I don't remember an ASEAN summit attended by so many world leaders before, nor were the global media that interested in our summits.
Malaysians don't like attention and while it's fascinating to see these folks in Malaysia I am uncomfortable with the attention Malaysia is getting 😅
Still, this is a good move and geopolitically advantageous thing to do. I am already eye rolling hard at the hot takes in foreign media, everyone debating about us trying to "balance ties", "choose sides" - ASEAN has always fostered communications between opposing sides. This goes back decades. But we shall endure their media spinning I guess.
