@tuxedocomputers for me to make #plasma6 useful, I need to use #liquidshell instead of #plasmashell as after some hours user1's plasmashell is using like 18G of RAM and user2's plasmashell 23G of RAM and they keep on consuming memory until all 64G is gone, it feels like the #kde developers all forgot that #Linux is a multi user OS and nothing is tested with more than one user running (don't say the other DE developers are any better, just not have the same issues)

Sorry, unrelated to TUXEDO OS

Great, now the #KDE #PlasmaShell crashes after unlocking the screen. Need to restart it with: kstart -- plasmashell --replace
That last #TuxedoOS update was really not good.

@innocence I did some testing, and you are right. The general rule made the way I described does not work, and I don't know how to fix it. I got played, because I had a bunch of window rules for individual windows already in my system.

Maybe some #Kwin people will have a moment to help us out? 🙂 This would be a great thing to know.

@IndigoOriole
I am in two minds over the transition of #xfce to #wayland

They need to do this to stay relevant. I am hoping, because they're trying to ensure all core #xfce elements are pure #wayland and do not require #xwayland, the overall solution stack will be compelling.

As a desktop, #kde looks nice but has a few paper-cut issues that can create stability challenges. I had my entire desktop become useless only yesterday because mouse clicks stopped working anywhere even though mouse cursor still moved (but not scrollwheel action) and keyboard worked. A restart of #plasmashell didn't fix it and I had to resort to working out how to shutdown cleanly via keyboard only (which was fine).

The beauty of #xfce as a desktop is its simplicity, in that it has good applications, good performance, and very high stability. That said, the version of #thunar shipping in #debian #trixie has segfault issues due to null in a few scenarios, which I've already hit a few times in tests.

Well, I have managed to sort out the #plasmashell crashing after an update for #nobara 42, but I have decided that for all the great stuff it offers...it's kinda heavyweight.
So, as much as I love distrohopping, I am more of the user type, so I am going to my trusted distribution, which is #linuxmint ..yeah, #noob stuff, but I value stability and easy of work over the latest thingy.
Also, I would love to do some #ricing ...but do I really have time for this? :)

You have to hit Alt + F3 when the game window is focused, and select "Keep above others" from the menus.

There's also an option to get rid of titlebar and frame from games that insist on rendering those.

From the "Configure Application (something)" submenu option you can make those changes persistent.

Your other option is to configure your panels to autohide, dodge windows, or keep below windows.

As things currently stand on my #KDE system, I have a login script which runs a while loop listening to d-bus events for system unlock and then restarts my #plasma-shell and plasma.power services, so that I don't lose the Desktop Environment or Keyboard control of Monitor brightness.

In another life, I would be trying to upstream fixes for these. But not in this life.
