So far the temps and the sounds have been much lower that the #ITX set up. #mATX seems to be the sweet spot between function and size.

All the parts assembled well and #Nobara Linux took care of the software/firmware.

Now the big question is: should I keep the PC on top of my desk or under the desk?

For the curious, I'm currently running #PikaOS on my laptop as I search for a new home OS because #Fedora decided it loved #AI more than it loved me.

PikaOS is based on #Debian Unstable (Sid), and is a gaming focused distro, kinda like the Debian version of #Nobara.

Great installer and onboarding app, #APX and APX-GUI from #VanillaOS are installed by default making container management a breeze, and the installation of Steam, Heroic, etc. was literally a click away after install and update.

PikaOS has its own custom package management software called pikman that's like Apt, except faster and easier to work with (although it does have some hiccups).

I want to call special attention to the included wallpapers, which are FUCKING ADORABLE 😍.

Overall it's been a good experience. I gotta say, PikaOS team, you might have a new owlbear-shaped fan… except for the goddamn motherfucking Discord support with no forums.

@Neffscape Ho iniziato con #Manjaro nel 2018. Dopo aver provato #Ubuntu e derivate su varie configurazioni hardware sono tornato sui miei passi con gioia. Attualmente ho Manjaro su un pc desktop e sto testando #Nobara su un portatile. Finché non escono problemi va bene ma poi...

I've switched more than a year ago and I am so happy with it!

If you want steam to just work out of the box with all games, I recommend #nobara .That even gets it done with all Nvidia drivers etc.

А ще донедавна це були LinuxMint, Pop!_OS, Ubuntu

До тих що мені ще до вподоби це ZorinOS (особливіть це інтеграція windows застосунків із коробки), ElementaryOS, TuxidoOS (думаю навіть придбати в них ноутбук, мені до вподоби що вони обрали KDE), KDE neon

Це все до того як все закрутилось навколо закінчення підтримки Windows 10

After I couldn't use #nobara any more (no secure boot) I was testing #ubuntu 25.10 (gnome)

To me it is less snappy and has more visual lag in most apps - most visibly in apps like Steam when scrolling.

So far #linuxmint is my second favorite directly after nobara.

Will stick with mint for the time being.

Now I need to clean up the partition mess I created by having 3 distros installed in parallel.

Did I mention that this really is fun! Love that I have the choice and can learn new things.

Für ein paar wenige Onlinegames werde ich Windows 11 als Dual Boot mitziehen, aber für den Rest möchte ich komplett auf #Linux #Nobara umsteigen! Auf meinem Laptop habe ich bisher gute Erfahrungen mit #KDENeon gemacht. #gamingonlinux

Is the best one can do for a #HTPC #Nobara, with #Kodi?
I'm not really into repackaging #Bazzite (with Kodi, and Kodi #SDDM Session).
What I want:
- Kodi, for HTPC usage
- #KDE, for regular updates
- Gamescope for launching games
With support for multiple local users and fast user switching.

It has been several months since I switched from #windows to #nobara #linux .

I am loving it! I am not missing a thing!

I had to fix one "bigger" problem and was successfull thanks to timeshift and good partitioning.

I booted into Windows twice.

Lately I notice more posts that talk about linux not beeing a good experience yet because sometimes things break - isn't that the normal on Windows? My 5+ years Windows installation is booting but not really living - it struggles and is sluggish. 1/2
