PH4NTXM Firmware is on GitHub!

A firmware branded especially for our Operating System, on top of the most trusted firmware, Heads!

It provides maximum security replacing BIOS and neutering Intel ME.

Flashing with SPI programmer is required.

If you're curious, check it out!

I've built a custom firmware called PH4NTXM, based on Coreboot and Heads. This is a rebranded, security-focused build.
So you can pair it with PH4NTXM Operating System!

It features all the known stuff, and of course the maximized configuration that neuters the Intel ME to its minimum state.

Note: To flash this, you'll need a supported older device, like a ThinkPad or similar, which support custom BIOS and, for the initial installation, an external SPI programmer.

The project will be hosted on GitHub as soon as I finish the validation process.

We booted Debian and FreeBSD 15 using QEMU accelerated with bhyve/vmm for the first time. This is an epic milestone for the FreeBSD community and beyond ! : r/freebsd

"Further development is needed...a lot of development...but anyway this is a storic moment....we can use another hypervisor. This time in cooperation with the storic and mature QEMU. FreeBSD is second to none.

This success has been possible thanks to the competence of Abhinav Chavali who started this project for the GSOC 2025 ; thanks bro.

It's built on top of dumrich's work. …"

I have disabled the desktop environment at boot by setting systemctl set-default multi-user.target.
startx will launch the Cinnamon DE, but plank is broken. Any idea why? I feel like this has something to do with window managers and that's where I start to glaze over when it comes to Linux.
EDIT: The error I get in a terminal when I try to start plank is that only X11 environments are supported. So that's the window manager, right?
Is this the correct way to do this? I don't want to load a GUI unless I need it, and I'm not interested in totally removing the desktop environment (or lectures about headlessness.)

reComputer RK3576/RK3588 Edge AI computers are supported by reComputer AI Lab one-click deployment platform

Seeed Studio has just launched the reComputer RK3576/RK3588 Edge AI computers designed for developers, embedded AI innovators, robotics, industrial AI, vision AI, local LLMs, and real-world edge deployment. Rockchip RK3576 and RK3588 computers are pretty common these days, and the Seeed Studio models offer triple video output, dual Ethernet (GbE or 2.5GbE), several USB ports, and M.2 expansion. But the most interesting part is probably the software with Armbian-based Linux OS and support for the reComputer AI Lab platform that enables one-click deployment of AI-accelerated computer vision, audio, and LLM/LVM demos. reComputer RK3576/RK3588 specifications: SoC (one or the other) Rockchip RK3576 Octa-core CPU - 4x Cortex-A72 cores at 2.2GHz, 4x Cortex-A53 cores at 1.8GHz GPU – ARM Mali-G52 MC3 GPU NPU – 6 TOPS (INT8) AI accelerator with support for INT4/INT8/INT16/BF16/TF32 mixed operations.
