#Manjaro
While I would much rather use #ZenBrowser on my laptop, considering the issues I'm having using it as a #Flatpak, I'll just stick with #Vivaldi for now and keep working with #Solus #Linux for a bit longer.
Maybe I'll finally overwrite my original Windows drive with a different distribution, maybe see if #Manjaro still has the issues it did with the 26.0.3 release that didn't install properly. Just need to make sure I clear everything I need out of Windows.
I installed #ZenBrowser as a #Flatpak in #Solus #Linux. Clicking on a link from Thunderbird will open the browser if it's closed or create a new web page if it is, but it won't send the address to the program.
Am I missing an option to make that happen properly?
A definite downside. And with the limited number of browsers available in the repository, my options are seriously limited.
Is the new #Manjaro installer working properly or is it still broken?
[Testing Updates] 2026-04-06 - Kernels, Mesa, Godot, Haskell, ROCm, TexLive, Parental Controls
#Manjaro #distro #linux

Over all, I've had less problems with #Manjaro #Linux than I've been having with #Solus. No need to mess with #Flatpak installs, broader program access, simple tools to select and install kernels, less problem typing out "pamac" than "eopkg" (I keep mistyping that second one).
Manjaro does a better job of cleaning out the bootloader on install than Solus. I have the ghost of three different installs currently on my laptop. Manjaro always just cleaned house and tidied up.
I started testing out Solus in case Manjaro imploded. Signs on the forum seem to indicate that the problems are being ironed out.
Unless I'm missing something?
Introducing Distro-Plopper!
A #vibecoded, #distrohopping migration tool. If it doesn't work, blame #Claude
What it [allegedly] does:
distro-plopper scans your current system and bundles everything into a portable export β then restores it on a fresh install with an interactive #TUI (or plain text fallback).
- Not yet fully tested, so beware!
- I [Claude] built this for a #Manjaro #migration to another Arch based #linux distro. Setting everything up is such a pain.
On commence deja a voir les distributions #linux qui vont se coucher devant le flicage massif qui vient...

https://forum.manjaro.org/t/will-manjaro-implement-age-verification/186816/6
Stop listening to rumours. Some distros, and Hardware manufacturers, who ship Linux based Operating Systems, are based in US States that have voted to implement Age verification Laws. Those Manufacturers and Distros are subject to those Laws, and are legally required to at least be prepared to implement Age Verification. However. It is not set in stone, yet, as to whether Those Manufacturers, and/or Linux Distros, based in the US will be required to implement age verification. There are many ...
