Thought I'd try modern computing with #KDEPlasma on an old 1280×1024 display for a bit. See how viable it is. (And if it helps my eye strain.)
Looks like the first thing I need to do is set all the fonts to 80% of what they normally are.
I booted up a virtual machine with Windows 95, and yep, the base font size was 8 pixels. Today it's 10. So, a scale factor of 0.8 gives you mostly authentic 1995 proportions for everything—a must if you're going to use a 1995-sized screen!
