I've been imagining that bow & arrow is a high-value weapon style for the Lashunta, especially dwelling in (and up in) the megadendra rainforests. Limited-front engagements along a bough, set of swinging vines, or even up or down a tree trunk mean that missile weapons become a premium, or better yet - shooting down onto the forest floor. While Outrider-led Shotalashu cavalry may rule melee, there may be considerably fewer opportunities to bring that force to bear than even the noblest, eagerest Damaya lady-knight may prefer.

Think the flying-lizard riders in the background are out of place? I would argue no. Starfinder canon for the Lashunta & Castrovel propose the Thasaka and their riders from Ofu-Laubu (Laubu Mesa). The Lashunta of this far northern city have been taming and riding Thasaka through Castrovel's cloudy skies since before the Elves abandoned that colony when the Return to Kyonin drained huge swathes of outlying populations back to Sovyrian.

Until I came across this pic, I hadn't contemplated a lashunta might psychically bond with more than one shotalashu. This would make them more than a mere rider, put mistress of a whole pack. What prey would they seek together amid Castrovel's jungles?

I have a whole list of lost cities on Castrovel, such as Halla, where the Warrior-Princesses held off the Thief-Queens for a thousand years before their palace was burned around them. Then there is another, on a whole other continent now occupied by the Formians: ~Valamaea Yazanta~ - Lost Valmaea, the subject of legends that have grown almost to religion.

What would a team of Lashunta explorers give to plumb those ancient, hallowed halls?
