Bombing Lebanon is Proof of Israel's Bloody Impunity

Israel claims this is a "justified" response to Hizbullah firing rockets into Israel. We have heard this lie before. Netanyahu also conveniently ignores the 1500 times they have broken the ceasefire in the last year

"The best way to secure the future of the UK is to make it work for the people of the UK. To do this would involve a bold rethink of how we make it a state fit for the present day rather than the arcane hodgepodge of inertia and tradition that it currently is."

"If the polls are to be believed, the United Kingdom is in a very interesting position. By the end of May, it is likely that the largest party in three of the four constituent countries of the UK will want the larger polity in which they operate to break apart."

Does cricket have a role in a border poll? by The Irish Cricket Podcast

Surely not, right? Political journalist Sam McBride has written a book exploring the pros and cons of a United Ireland. He's also a cricket fan and has strong opinions on the merit of the sport. The Irish Cricket Podcast loves a good old political discussion, so Ally slung his hook in the direction of Stormont to meet with Sam and discuss cricket's role - however small - in the political future of the island. Interesting thread from the NI Greens, detailing how UK Labour's plans to mess with ECHR rules is yet another instance of their forgetting that Northern Ireland exists.

Most of what comes out of this is hand-wringing, the wider issue of "ends justifying means" will not be interrogated as the underlying logic applies to other conflicts in the present day, conflicts we will be told in deathly tones are important not to ignore, important to take seriously, important to devote resources to, important to take sides in. How much of that will be unmasked as disingenuous in the future?

Statement from Gerry Carroll MLA welcomes Keir Starmer's recognition of Palestinian statehood "A state for Palestinians is the bare minimum required. We also need an end to Zionist apartheid, genocide, ethnic cleansing and to grant millions of displaced Palestinians the right to return."
